Community Archiving, Museum of Transology

As a community archivist for the Museum of Transology, I worked alongside other queer and trans volunteers to catalog and properly store objects donated by the trans community in the U.K., drawing on best archival practices and trans lived experience to build an archive that is not only world-class in terms of collections and logistics, but also exists as an accessible, friendly space for trans visitors and researchers, whose experiences and research interests are often erased by mainstream institutions.
